All About IKEA’s STOCKHOLM Collection

I know we chatted about IKEA a few newsletters ago, but I just went to IKEA to check out this updated collection and felt the need to report back. But before I share my thoughts, a little bit of history…

When the STOCKHOLM collection was first launched in 1985, founder Ingvar Kamprad labelled it the “best of IKEA.” Since its inception, the STOCKHOLM line has had seven editions, with the 2025 update being its seventh installment. Its focus is on craftsmanship and durability, which you can see exemplified in the tongue-and-groove joints of some of the newer pieces. The collection uses high-quality materials more consistently than we see in IKEA’s other lines, opting for veneers and solid woods over wood effects and particleboard, which is also why you’re going to see a higher price point with this line as opposed to most of their other stuff.
