Let's Explore at Dakota Johnson's MCM Home šŸ›‹ļø

šŸ’ My Honest Thoughts...

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Itā€™s been really rainy in Vancouver this week (where did summer go?). I hope it's still sunny and warm wherever you are. Iā€™m taking a mini vacation next week (yay). I leave Friday to head to Hawaii, so I'm hopeful Iā€™ll get my fill of sunshine then.

Today, I thought weā€™d revisit the AD Home Tours since (I believe) you guys liked my last one. Dakota Johnsonā€™s AD Home Tour was such a pop culture moment back in 2020 that I felt it would be a great one to review!

šŸ’ My Honest Thoughtsā€¦

Dakota Johnsonā€™s Serene MCM Sanctuary

Weā€™re going to start in Dakotaā€™s living room, which gives us a great preview of the rest of her home. She clearly loves mid-century modern, as that is the prominent architectural style of her house, but Iā€™d say she adds a lot of touches of other design styles, leading to an overall eclectic MCM style. I think itā€™s a super cool living room; I love the natural light coming in from her backyard. I like that the seating is in the center of the room, facing each other for natural ease of conversation, and I love the mixed wood elements. You guys know I donā€™t love a glass coffee table so that is a bit of a miss for me. I find glass to be an impractical material as it is a fingerprint magnet and can lead to bruised shins. I will note that the corners are rounded, which is a plus when it comes to glass furniture, but I wouldā€™ve preferred a different material, maybe a well-worn rustic wood, a great cut of stone or even a metal coffee table.
